Q1: Where can I find the registration code and serial number?

The registration code can be found on the supplied label, or by opening the back cover of the logger as shown in the pictures below.
The serial number can be found on the same label as the registration code, or on the bottom of the logger.

Q2: Is it possible to extend the length of the sensor?

The TR42 sensor can be extended by using our optional sensor extension cable “TR-2C30".
(The cable length is 3 meters and one cable can be used per TR42 sensor.)


About Communication

Q2: How far is the Bluetooth communication range?

Bluetooth communication can operate within a range of about 10 meters. This range may be increased depending on the environmental situation.

Q3: What kind of smartphone or tablet can it be used with?

Please use with Android or iOS devices with Bluetooth low energy.

Compatible OS:
Android 4.4 or later
iOS 9.0 or later (iPhone/iPad)
∗Please note that although T&D will offer updates to their Apps, there may be instances where newer versions of Android OS and iOS may not be fully supported.

About Communication

Communication (settings/ download of recorded data/ monitoring of current readings) continually fails, what should I do?

- Check to make sure the mobile device being used is compatible with Bluetooth low energy.
- Check the Bluetooth setting on your mobile device and make sure it is ON.
- Try turning off and on the Bluetooth function on your mobile device.
- Check to see if the battery is low in the logger. You will see the battery warning mark displayed on the logger screen when the remaining battery power is low, or you can check the battery level on T&D WebStorage Service.

ThermoStorage doesn’t seem to be scanning for my TR4; what should I do?

The following dialog box appears when opening ThermoStorage for the first time.
If you select “DENY”, Bluetooth communication will not be carried out.

Check the app information on your mobile device, as follows:

  1. Open “Settings” and tap “Apps” to view your list of apps.
  2. Select “ThermoStorage” to open the App Info screen.
    Tap “Permissions” and enable “Location” permissions.
  3. Open ThermoStorage and reload (pull to refresh).

Data upload via ThermoStorage failed; what was the problem?

It may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • Your mobile device went into sleep mode during the upload process.
  • You moved to another screen in ThermoStorage during the upload process.
  • The data logger or mobile device was moved out of Bluetooth range.
  • The battery is low in the logger.

Note: It takes about two minutes to download data from one unit at full logging capacity.

I can't send data from ThermoREC to T&D WebStorage Service; what may be the problem?

First, make sure that your mobile device is connected to the network.

Next, try the following steps on ThermoREC and check the data on T&D WebStorage Service.

ThermoREC
  1. In the Top screen select the data and open Graph View.
  2. Data monitoring and the downloading of recorded data will automatically start.
  3. Downloaded recorded data and monitoring data will be uploaded to T&D WebStorage Service upon return to the previous (Top) screen.
