About the Device

What sensor maintenance needs to be carried out ?

Temperature Sensor

Although the sensor element of the temperature sensor does not experience loss of precision due to use over time, due to external factors, such as build up of water, losses in precision will occur.

If over time you experience losses in measurement precision, we suggest the purchase of a new sensor.

Temperature-Humidity Sensor

The temperature-humidity sensors will with normal use experience losses in precision and sensitivity over time due to degradation. If the sensor is being used in a smoky or dusty environment, the surface of the sensor will accumulate impurities causing a further decrease in the sensor's performance.

About the Device

Is it possible to extend the length of the sensor?

Yes, it is possible to lengthen a cable by using our optional sensor extension cables.

There are two lengths of extension cables: 1m and 3m. Only one cable can be connected to a temperature sensor; and up to 3 cables can be connected to a temp/humidity sensor.

Please contact your local distributor for the purchase of these and all optional items.

About the Device

Can I request calibration of the unit?

Yes, fee-based comparative calibrations for both temperature and humidity are possible.

Direct communication (settings, recorded data download) continually fails, what should I do? (TR-7wf Series only)

If direct communication using T&D Thermo continually fails please check the following:

Troubleshooting

I can't view the auto-uploaded recorded data, what should I do?

Please check the following:

Basic Items

  • Check to make sure that device registration was completed properly; this can be checked by viewing the list of devices using T&D Thermo or T&D WebStorage Service from your web browser.

  • Check to make sure there is ample battery power (the battery warning mark is not on).
  • Try turning OFF and ON the device and recheck to see if a connection has been established.
  • Check to make sure there is no problem with the connected hub or router in the network. When using the TR-7nw Series make sure the LAN cable is properly connected.

Items related to Wireless LAN Access Point Connection (TR-7wf Series only)

If the wireless LAN icon does not appear on the device LCD display, it means that wireless LAN connection settings have not been completed. Please make proper settings.

If the wireless LAN icon is blinking on the device LCD display, it means that there is a connection failure between the device and the access point. Check the following:

  • Try adjusting the position of the device or its distance from the access point and check for a connection.
  • Check to make sure that there is no channel interference making it hard for the signal to be received. Try changing the channel on the access point side and check again for a connection.
  • Check to make sure that all wireless LAN access point settings (SSID, Authentication method, Password, etc...) have been made correctly.
  • The TR-7wf Series complies with IEEE802.11b standard for 2.4GHz Wireless LAN. An access point connection cannot be established if an SSID (network name) has been set in "TR-7wf/nw for Windows" for connecting to the Wireless LAN in the 5GHz range. Nor can a connection be made if the wireless LAN access point is set to IEEE802.11g only (and IEEE802.11b disabled).
  • If the Wireless LAN Access Point's MAC address filtering feature is set to active, it is necessary to first register the MAC address of the device being used. The MAC address for the device can be found in Device Properties on the main window of TR-7wf/nw for Windows.

If WEB mark does not appear:

  • The Auto-upload feature has been set to OFF. Please make necessary Auto-upload Interval settings and set to ON.

If WEB mark is ON:

  • Make sure that the T&D WebStorage Service account which was used to register this device is the same as the one currently logged in.
  • Check to make sure that the REC mark in the LCD of the device is on. Recorded data will not be uploaded when recording is not in progress.

If WEB mark is blinking:

There is a connection failure to the T&D WebStorage Service. Check the following:

  • If you entered the IP address, subnet mask and other settings, please make sure that the entries are all correct.
  • Check to make sure that an Internet connection can be established on the network you are using. (See if an Internet connection is possible using a PC or some other device that is connected to the same wireless LAN access point, hub, or router. See also, if the Internet connection is restricted by a firewall.)
  • When using a proxy server is necessary, make sure that the address of the proxy server and the port number are set correctly in the Auto-uploading Settings of TR-7wf/nw for Windows. (A proxy server that requires authentication cannot be used.)
  • Check to make sure that T&D WebStorage Service is not temporarily down due to maintenance or other trouble; try accessing T&D WebStorage Service from your web browser.

Items related to T&D WebStorage Service

Check to see if the WEB mark is being displayed on the LCD of the data logger.

If the antenna mark is not on, check the following.

If WEB mark does not appear

The Auto-upload feature has been set to OFF. Please make necessary Auto-upload Interval settings and set to ON.

If WEB mark is blinking

There is a connection failure to the T&D WebStorage Service. Check the following:

  • If you entered the IP address, subnet mask and other settings, please make sure that the entries are all correct.
  • Check to make sure that an Internet connection can be established on the network you are using.
(See if an Internet connection is possible using a PC or some other device that is connected to the same wireless LAN access point, hub, or router. See also, if the Internet connection is restricted by a filter.)
  • On the face of the data logger, try pressing down on the REC button and see if anything changes in the T&D Thermo display or in the web browser display.
  • Check to make sure that T&D WebStorage Service is not temporarily down due to maintenance or other trouble; try accessing T&D WebStorage Service from your web browser.
